There has recently been revealed the name of one of the people to be awarded with 2006 Hasselblad Foundation International Award prize – the award that has been announced on the 100th anniversary of the birth of Victor Hasselblad, founder of the Hasselblad camera equipment company. The winner is the Stockholm - South African photographer David Goldblatt, who was honoured for his lifelong portrayal of the social and political life in his home country. The photographer will receive the 500 000 kronor prize and a gold medal at a ceremony on November 25 from the Hasselblad Foundation promotes scientific education and research in natural sciences and photography. Moreover, an exhibit featuring Goldblatt's works will also be displayed at the Hasselblad Centre in Goteborg.
