Until the May 1 you may visit Bertil Vallien exhibition at the Waldemarsudde museum, which consists of a castle-like main building and a Gallery Building. The exhibition features around fifty best masterpieces of the world known glass artist Bertil Vallien from the last twenty years of the artist’s work. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the way Bertil Vallien uses darkness and light and the capacity of glass to express an idea and enclose an important theme. Some of the presented works are absolutely new. For instance, in his work “Transit”, which consists of four abstract sculpture groups, he tries to show how the inner light inherent in the glass changes our perception of forms and materials. In the group Sleep/Waken (Somna/Vakna) he has chosen to enclose or "freeze" dreams or inhumane events in sarcophagi-like glass forms.
